When Ellen Isanogel died in 1952, she left 140 acres of land to a local Society for Crippled Children if it would use the property as a home or recreation grounds for crippled or physically handicapped children and adults. If no such group was willing to accept the conditions within two years of her death, she directed that the property be sold and most of the proceeds be divided equally between the local society and to the Father Flanagan’s Boy’s Town in Nebraska.
