A divided appellate court in New York has ruled that a Pennsylvania
charity may enforce an unfulfilled $150,000 Pledge Agreement signed
by a New York resident less than two months before his death. The
Court found that the language of the Agreement was, by itself, sufficient
to provide legal consideration for the obligation. (In the Matter
