A Court of Appeals in California has held that a foundation which contributed $1 million to the UCLA School of Medicine to establish an endowed Chair in Cardiothoracic Surgery has standing to sue the School to enforce the conditions of the gift. Reversing a trial court decision, the Court said the donor has standing whether the contribution was a gift with a condition subsequent or a gift creating a charitable trust.
