Airport lessee rented space from nonprofit museum
controlled by local airport director and his wife
A nonprofit museum controlled by the director of the Shreveport (LA) airport and his wife has been ordered to pay a penalty of $2250 for violation of the state’s conflict of interest law because the museum received rent from a business that had a lease with the airport.
The state Board of Ethics imposed a penalty equal to the rent received by the museum and also penalized a limited liability company controlled by the director and his wife because the LLC had a separate lease with the business. A Court of Appeal has affirmed.
