Charities would do well to review tax return
from the point of view of prospective donors before filing
As many charities get ready to file a slightly revised Form 990 tax return this year, they face some new questions about foreign activities, relations with other entities, and payments to past officers and directors.
But the Form also gives a whole page on which to present statements of the organization’s program service accomplishments. The Internal Revenue Service essentially agrees with what we have been saying for many years. Form 990 may be your most important public relations document.
