Don’t mess with charity volunteers

That’s what the general manager of a car dealership in Savannah, GA, has learned the hard way. Duane Bartels was manager of Southern Motors when he approached a volunteer for the Historic Savannah Foundation who was preparing for a charity benefit event being held at the dealership. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that he had not been consulted in planning the event and allegedly used profanity and said otherwise “demeaning and embarrassing” things to the woman. The foundation’s director reported the incident to the owner, and Bartels was fired four days later.
