Woman’s claim for autism discrimination dismissed

A woman’s claim that Autism Speaks, Inc. cancelled a job offer because she needed time to resolve a day care issue for her autistic son has been dismissed by the federal District Court in Washington, DC. The Court said she had not pled facts to bring her under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and had not exhausted her administrative remedies on an Americans with Disabilities Act claim. The woman was given an offer as Walk Events Manager. A day before she was to start, she phoned the Executive Director regarding a day care issue with her son.
