Two employees of a nonprofit training center have won their back pay claims when the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a trial court decision that they had been fired in violation of the Minnesota Whistleblower Protection Act after they had refused to falsify reports for a federal jobs program. The Court affirmed the decision against the agency but vacated the order imposing liability on the employees’ supervisor personally. Lisa Chavez-Lavagnino claimed that in December 2008 her supervisor ordered her to sign an application for a worker who failed to sign himself.
