Top 10 Areas of Legal Concern For Small Volunteer Organizations Webinar, March 2, 2011

Nonprofit Issues® editor Don Kramer, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations, will present a webinar on the “Top 10 Areas of Legal Concern for Small Volunteer Organizations” on Wednesday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m. ET.

The program will be of particular interest to organizations that operate primarily with all volunteer boards and little or no paid staff, including small community associations, kids’ sports leagues, booster clubs and other school-related activities, advocacy and educational groups, artistic and cultural organizations, animal rescues, social clubs and many others.

Kramer will discuss legal structures, board roles and responsibilities, financial controls, personal liability, insurance, fundraising, deduction issues, record keeping, grantmaking and required governmental filings.

Volunteers who have real lives and don’t spend a lot of it worrying about the intricacies of nonprofit corporate and tax law will come away with a checklist of important issues to keep their organizations out of trouble and more focused on pursuing their mission.

More information and registration is available in our bookstore.
