The total number of donor advised funds and total value of their assets continued to grow significantly in 2018, according to the latest annual report by the National Philanthropic Trust . The total number of funds has grown from 469,331 in 2017 to 728,563 in 2018. The total value of the assets in those funds has grown from $112.1 billion to $121.42 billion, an 8.3% increase. Total contributions to DAFs grew from $30.9 billion to $37.12 billion, up 20%, while total grants paid out rose from $19.7 billion to $23.42 billion, an 18.9% jump.
