Donor Advised Funds grow in “all key metrics”

Donor advised funds grew significantly in 2017 in number of funds, total assets, contributions received, and grants made, according to the 12 th annual Donor Advised Fund Report issued recently by the National Philanthropic Trust. For the eighth consecutive year there was growth “in all key metrics,” the report said, making donor advised funds “the fastest-growing vehicle in philanthropy.” The total number of DAFs grew to 463,622 across the country, receiving contributions of $29.23 billion and making grants of $19.08 billion.
