The fact that an individual was one of the founders and initial directors of a nonprofit agency does not prevent the individual from pursuing a suit against the agency for her supervisor’s failure to stop harassment by a client’s employee, a federal District Court in the District of Columbia has ruled. Dr. LaVerna Simms was one of the incorporators and initial directors of the Center for Correctional Health and Policies Studies, which was created in 1999 to provide mental health services to prison inmates of the D.C.
