Heirs have no reversionary interest in hospital property

The heirs of donors who gave land to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, have no reversionary interest in the property when the donors effectively released and extinguished the reverter by a subsequent deed to the city, the Court of Appeals of Arkansas has ruled. Stephan and Amanda Stone gifted the property to the city in 1906 to establish and maintain a hospital to be named after them. The deed contained a reverter clause that would cause the property to be conveyed back to them or their heirs under certain circumstances.
