Hospital parent may be single employer with hospital

A federal District Court in Tennessee has refused to grant a motion for summary judgment filed by the parent entity in a hospital system that was made a co-defendant with the hospital whose employee sued for wrongful termination of employment. The Court said it was too early to tell whether the parent was a single employer with the operating hospital. The employee was employed directly by Baptist Memorial Hospital at Tipton, which is a subsidiary of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation.
