The Tax Court has parsed the regulations dealing with claims of unreimbursed expenses incurred by a volunteer for a charitable organization and permitted the taxpayer to claim some, but not all, of them as charitable contribution deductions on her federal income tax return. Tawana Bradley claimed $822.27 in unreimbursed expenses in connection with her volunteer activities as a cheerleading coach for a youth football and cheerleading league, including paying for a charter bus for an event, paying for pizzas and other supplies for a team party, and use of her automobile for travel to and from team practices and games.
