How good is your personnel policy handbook?

Whether your nonprofit has 10 employees, 200 employees, or more than 1000, you probably have a personnel policy “handbook.”  You give it to new employees and require that they sign to acknowledge receipt.

But do they actually read it?  If they do, does it cover the policies you want them to understand?  Does it reflect the type of working environment you want to maintain?  Does it cover issues required by law?  In a way that complies with the law?

Does it cover available leaves?  Disciplinary procedures? Remote work?  Whistleblower protections?  Conflicts of Interest?   Social media policies?

Does it protect your ability to change the policies?  Do you have a way to update it regularly, with changes going to all employees?

This webinar will review a template personnel policy handbook item-by-item. We will discuss the choices you have available to you and answer your questions on best approaches to your issues.  William K. Kennedy and Carrie Evans Wilson, partners in the Labor and Employment section of the Philadelphia law firm Montgomery, McCracken, will lead the discussion.

You can submit your own questions before the webinar or during the live program.  If we can’t answer them during the program, we typically follow-up with an email after the program.

You will also receive a copy of the PowerPoint.

Pennsylvania CLE & CPE
The program provides 1.5 hours of continuing legal education credit for lawyers and continuing professional education credit for accountants in Pennsylvania.  We can also provide a certificate of attendance for lawyers from other states who can use participation in a Pennsylvania-accredited program to meet your own credit requirements.

Nonprofit Issues® editor Don Kramer will facilitate the presentation.  Don is regularly listed among the Best Lawyers in America in the field of nonprofit/charities law.  Ashley Suhler Tobin, Standards for Excellence Director, will also participate.
